Organisations rely increasingly on Quantitative information, metrics, measures, statistics, numbers and box ticking to manage the complexity of the systems that organise our lives, aided by increasingly sophisticated IT systems.

Whist the people at the front line & our customers are increasingly becoming isolated from the layers of management that are tasked with managing the systems. This type of information may identify a problem at a high level but it does not define a problem for that we have to keep asking why.

By working with Qualitative information - stories, perceptions, observations, issues, ideas and experiences - we can identify, define and provide solutions to problems and opportunities because we are asking the “why?” question from multiple perspectives.
